House Approves the DREAM Act.
The Dream Act, is an Act passed by the House recently that grants a way for children under the age of 16 who entered the United States illegally, to become citizens however there are some requirements. Individuals who have lived in America for at least five years, obtained a high school or General Education Development diploma and demonstrated "good moral character," according to a White House fact sheet, may be eligable for citizenship as long they also either go to college or serve in the Military for at least 2 years. There are some opposing points on this proposition that this could possibly be a form of amnesty for all illegal immigrants. On the positive side, for individuals who arent a threat to public safety, this could be a way to strengthen our military and our economy.

I agree that this is a way to strengthen both our economy and military by obtaining more skilled workers for our nation, but as an added bonus immigrants who wish to live a more successful life are also going to be allowed citizenship in our nation at the same time
ReplyDeleteI agree that this would be a good way to strengthen our military or encourage a higer level of education but there is the argument that the Republicans are making that the illegal immigrants are allowed to commit a list of crimes and still be eligable for citizenship.
